Philip Morgan is a Director in the Silicon Valley office. A senior executive with experience in all phases of the pharmaceutical industry from discovery through commercialization, Dr. Morgan was previously the co-founder of Trelion Pharmaceuticals, a start-up drug development company focused on the fast track development of new CNS (central nervous system), Oncology and anti-inflammatory drugs. Dr. Morgan was also the Head of the Department of Molecular Pharmacology of GlaxoSmithKline and GlaxoWellcome in the United States, where he was the pre-clinical pharmacology expert for various drugs, including Nimbex, a neuromuscular blocker; Wellbutrin SR, an anti-depressant; Zyban, an anti-smoking medicine used to reduce withdrawal symptoms; and Manifaxine, a drug used to treat ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), among others. Dr. Morgan was also a Senior Scientist for Burroughs Wellcome, as well as a Fogarty Associate and Visiting Scientist and Fogarty Fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Morgan received an M.S. in Pharmacology from Chelsea College of the University of London, a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from St. Georges Medical School of the University of London, and an MBA from Duke University. Dr. Morgan has two patents to his name, and has penned forty peer-reviewed publications and five review articles. |
